Creating a One-of-a-Kind Piece: From Fibre to Finished Product

At The Snuggly Viking, every piece I create is unique—crafted by hand, full of character, and impossible to replicate exactly. For over 15 years, I’ve been perfecting the art of turning raw fleece into bespoke, one-of-a-kind pieces that are as individual as the people who wear them.

The journey begins with the fleece, sourced from high-welfare farms in Suffolk and local alpaca farms in Norfolk. Each batch of fibre carries its own personality—the softness, colour, and texture shaped by the animal and its environment. This is what makes every creation truly unique from the very start.

Once the fibre arrives in my studio, the real magic begins. Using techniques honed over years of wet felting, spinning, weaving, and dyeing, I carefully transform each fleece into components, curls, and finished pieces. Every piece receives personal attention, from selecting the right fibres to achieving the perfect texture and colour. No two items are ever exactly alike; each tells its own story and bears the mark of careful craftsmanship.

Finished pieces include scarves, accessories, and bespoke items that reflect my artistic vision and the individuality of the fibre itself. I also offer components for makers who wish to create their own projects, allowing them to experience the joy of working with ethically sourced, high-quality fibre.

Commissions are also part of my work. I love collaborating with clients to create a truly unique item tailored to their preferences. While every piece is made by hand, the care and time invested ensure that it is durable, functional, and beautiful. Each commission begins with a conversation to understand the client’s vision, followed by a deposit to secure the custom creation.
